Twisted Tower Gameplay Guide: How the Tower Actually Plays
Twisted Tower gameplay overview for the Steam game: the lobby-and-ticket loop, five areas, toy weapons, movement Toys, route choices, and NG+ — all verified.
This is the gameplay hub for Twisted Tower (Steam, 2026) — the loop, the structure, and the systems, with links to the deep-dive pages. Everything here is verified against the current store page and release-day reviews; where public information runs out, we say so instead of guessing.
What kind of game is it?
A single-player, linear first-person shooter with platforming. The mood is BioShock-flavored, but the structure is its own thing: short campaign (roughly 4–6 hours per early reviews), heavy atmosphere, toy-themed arsenal, and route choices that change each run.
How does the tower loop work?
The lobby is the hub. Each run through a themed area earns tickets, ends back at the lobby, and opens the elevator upward. Tickets buy weapon upgrades; a separate collectible, Twisted Tokens, unlocks the special rooms that grant movement Toys. The regular puzzle grammar is keys, levers, tickets, and rooms that flip or reroute once cleared.
- Areas detail: all five areas
- Upgrade economy: weapons & Real Boy Station
- Movement abilities: Toys & Twisted Tokens
What are the five areas?
Hotel → Mermaid Palace → Clown Casino → Fairground Forest → Lightspeed Land. Each has its own mascot cast and set-piece flavor; the areas page maps them including pre-release name changes, so older videos do not confuse you.
How do combat and movement combine?
Ten toy-styled weapons (upgradeable at the Real Boy Station) handle the shooting; four movement Toys (Harpoon, Fairy Wings, Clown Shoes, Jetpack) handle traversal and secret access. The design intent is backtracking: yesterday’s sealed room opens once you own the right Toy, so route memory pays off.
Do choices carry between runs?
Yes and no. Route choices lock in per playthrough, and NG+ exists for the next climb — but nothing suggests permanent build failure, so experimentation is safe. “Multiple paths” refers to route variety; for the endings question, see the story section.
Where are the bosses?
Boss encounters exist (including a final confrontation), but no verified complete list is public this week. Status and spoiler-gated footage: bosses.
